Typophile Film Festival 4 Titles

Eric Gillett, Linda Reynolds, and I led a group of students in creating the opening and closing title sequences for the 4th Typophile Film Festival. I served as a creative director, a project manager, and the animation supervisor. I instructed seven students in animation methods and motion design, using After Effects software and stop motion photography. The concept of the opening title was a man’s life, told only through found typography—the type that we encounter at every stage of our lives. Although it was produced digitally, the graphics retained a very handmade feel, and the animation style was reminiscent of stop motion animation.
